I am looking for a reasonable home theater system for my 13×22 room. How much do I spend?
I have a DVD player. Maybe a new receiver, a powered subwoofer and 5 speakers? What about watts? How do I know if I see a system that does not sound "full" enough to satisfy my large room? What are the minimum requirements for a decent sound system for my 62 "TV? Can I do this for $ 300? I do not want a small sound. What needs to be happy, but do not spend myself into oblivion? I'm afraid I know very little about what to look for.
The Hsu Research has perhaps one of the best values of a speaker system home theater for small to large rooms. The price of an entry level high performance system start at about $ 500 for 5-6 speakers and a powered subwoofer. You want to find a good receiver like the Onkyo or Yamaha or Pioneer for the price you are considering. Should, at least 60 watts per channel driven at least 20Hz-20, 000Hz. Speakers should have at least a sensitivity of 88 dB @ 1W/1m, and must be able to handle 100 watts RMS or more. The greater the sensitivity, the lower the wattage you can achieve the same volume level. The active subwoofer should be able to play bass for at least 30Hz flat (ie,-3dB or less) and preferably, 20Hz-25Hz or more is ideal. Along with the capabilities of low bass, the subwoofer must be able to play these frequencies at high levels. A subset of good will play a 30Hz tone at least 100 dB, with no more than 10% distortion (ie maximum level before clipping). The system that is specifically recommended for your room and the criteria would be as follows … Receiver – Onkyo TX-SR604 Speakers – Hsu Research HB-1 (x5) or VT-12 subwoofer Active – Hsu Research STF-2 as a couple of alternatives, SVS has a lot of Nice with a powered subwoofer speaker set-ups. Also, another great value, go to Parts Express and look up Proficient and audio Dayton. They also carry a Pioneer surround fine too. And Honerable mention goes to the Acoustech BIC 5 – piece of cinema high sensitivity at home speaker system with a 12 "active subwoofer. If you are considering Klipsch for home theater system, is a better option Acoustech for less $. _ _ _ HHT heatering Appy ome! _ _ _
