The audio used car will have final say about how your sound system. There are many different types of speakers available. A single speaker can be used to reproduce the full range of sounds, but not ideal. If the speaker is too large, will have problems to reproduce the high frequencies which require rapid movement speakers. If it is too small will have trouble reproducing bass frequencies that require large amounts of air moving. Because a single speaker can not reproduce accurately all the sounds are used by many speakers each doubling the sound frequency range it was designed. One speaker called a tweeter reproduces high frequencies generally above 2 kHz.
Tweeters are small and lightweight so they can respond quickly. Very little power is required to power tweeters, as they are very efficient. Woofers are the exact opposite, as they usually require large amounts of energy to actually move air. Woofers are intended to produce sound at frequencies below 250 Hz and often just below 100 Hz (in the case of subwoofers). Because a woofer must move a lot considerable air are usually large with a typical size of 10 ", 12", 15 "and up to 18"! Moreover tweeters are usually very small ranging in size from 1 / 2 "to 2" in size. Generally, tweeters over 1 "in size can not respond quickly enough a good sound and are very directional. In between are midrange speakers which handle the frequencies between the woofers and tweeters. Further separation can be done but is usually not essential and only complicates the junction that separates the entire audio signal into several parts for each speaker.
Things to look for:
Power Handling: As with amplifiers, RMS or continuous power is essential. Some manufacturers claim very high power handling figures but they are usually for very short peaks. Of course music is not continuous but the continuous power handling gives a better impression of the amount of power a speaker can really handle. For tweeters and midrange power handling is not as important because not much power for them to play loudly. For woofers though a rough match to be made between the woofer and amplifier that drive it.
Sensitivity: This is a very important specification for a loudspeaker. It gives you an idea of how loud a speaker will play given a power of given input. If a speaker is not sensitive then you require more power to play in the same volume level of a speaker that is more sensitive. The numbers between 85 dB and 95 dB at 1 Watt RMS at 1 meter are general. If you use anything outside this range may have trouble matching the output levels of the speakers relative to each other. If you are running the speakers off the head unit then try to get speakers with input sensitivities since head units normally not have much power.
Physical size: You should pay attention to the size of the speakers you choose. Tweeters are very small, but should be mounted in which the fire almost directly to you or you can not hear properly. Some tweeters have better off axis response than others. If you will not be central to the speaker acute when the audition tweeters in a store to hear how their sound covariates when moving around them to see if they will work on your car. Midranges must fit into the door or dash spaces provided or have to do some cutting or fabrication. In general, the higher the larger subwoofer enclosure needed to sustain it. Some woofers are optimized for small enclosures than others (Solobaric Kicker, JL Audio W6 for example). Make sure you have enough space in the trunk or tailgate for the woofer. Kickpanels midrange and tweeters or coaxial generally offer superior images of the places in the door, however, the study of sound sometimes is lower that when the tweeters are mounted high on the doors or on the studs.
How Car Audio Speakers of work?
Moving speakers Speakers are air pistons that move back (in the negative cycle of the signal) and forth (in the positive cycle), creating different degrees of air pressure at different frequencies. The amplifier (either separately or included in your radio), produces electrical impulses that tensions alternating positive and negative (BC). This current reaches the voice coil inside the speaker, the formation of an electromagnet, or be rejected, or attracted by the fixed magnet at the bottom of the speaker. The voice coil joined to the cone, moving back and forth, creating sound. The surround sound (circle rubber that connects the top of the cone and the metal basket) and the spider (usually corrugated circle joining bottom yellow cone to magnet) that the cone return to its original position.
