When big industries like Lexicon home theater, B & K, etc. will DTS-HD/Dolby-Plus/DolbyTrueHD?
I was wondering, its been 2 to 3 years since DTS-HD and Dolby True HD were introduced. I've been looking at brands that offer only the recipients of these technologies. What is taking more industries known in the processor / amplifier market these technologies in non. The closest I've seen that new digital sounds is Sunfire, but I do not like them a lot. Does anyone know if moving to any other company is working on it, at least, or have available processors with HDMI 1.3 and the sound modes new.
It may well be that they know that HDMI is an audio connection and inferior to jump in the car would compromise their principles (see my tongue stuck in my cheek, but having said that, see the link to some information many are not aware of re HDMI) Seriously, marketing marketing it is likely that they are waiting for there to be material before disturbing program. If you look around there is not much out there in the way of Dolby TrueHD, DTS does not matter Master HD. These are not audio formats in itself but is used only for movies … and some high-end companies are even more interested in music. I suspect the real reason is simple economics. To date, only Blu-Ray and HD DVD (and as indicated some of them) support for HD audio formats, and taking into account the small proportion of consumers who have taken both the format (less than 5%), and the proportion of minutes that could pay for $ 5000 + range sound high video processor companies could be looking for 2-3 units of total sales. Hardly an attractive proposition. Anyway, not my opinion.
