We just got an HDTV with LCD flat screen. The image is "squashed" from top to bottom, so people seem more short?
and fatter than they would. Is there any way to get rid of this distortion? Thank you.
This is because television TV is a 16:9 widescreen, which means the ratio of the image width is 16 times, 9 times higher than the normal square (ish) TV is 4:3, and if you put a 4:3 image on a 16:9 screen appears to be all so warped to fit full screen. There are two ways to get around this problem. The first and best option is to change the configuration of the source (DVD player or digital tuner or whatever you are using) 16:9 widescreen to match your TV. This form will show images in widescreen format widescreen and normal images with black bars on the sides. the second is to switch the input sttings TV to 4:3 to match the source. (This will give you two black flags on both sides of the image to maintain the correct aspect ratio) This method is undesirable as that often affect to get the stamp, which is shwon a panoramic image with black bars on the sides, as well ast .. up and down is not used effectively screen all my advice is go to the settings menu on your DVD player or whatever you are using, find the menu on the aspect ratio change to TV 16:9 to show that you should be set to normal, or wide
